8/30/04. The right side rear panel is finished. Check out the door to watch the gas tank while I'm filling it up. I can also put some lightweight items in there. The rear belly skin is now on, too. It's getting close, now. 258.5 hours to this point.

9/6/04. A week of long evenings and Labor Day weekend allowed me lots of time to get things done. I rolled the plane out in front of the hangar again for some pictures (and to give me room to clean up a bit inside). It's looking pretty close to finished, now. I got the wheel pants done with the longer gear leg fairings, and the nose cone is clamped on while I wait for the removable nose cone hardware.

I measured the length, and the plane is 20' long. With the 26' wing, this is going to be one big plane.

Speaking of big, here's a good comparison on tail sizes between the Titan and Challenger.

My panel is almost complete. The GPS will be installed top center, and the compass will be in the bottom center. Having the airspeed indicator on the far left, and the EIS warning light on the far right will help when I'm training from the back seat. I won't have to have the student lean to one side.

The plastic panel looks good, but is flimsy. An aluminum angle brace stiffens things up nicely.

Here's a great picture of the biggest change in the Titan SS. 2 full-size matching seats, with plenty of room in the rear, including headroom.

The rear seat area is finished. This is SO much more comfortable than the previous seat someone stole out of a kindergarten room. :>) Debbie has started installing the carpet.

Guy and I designed the seat to flip forward to access a small area behind the rear seat.

I'll be making a pan to cover the rudder cables and brakes so luggage, bags, etc. can sit on it.

Guy did an excellent job of fabrication and welding, despite having a torch tip way too big for the work he was doing. I had everything powder coated to match the rest of the fuselage. Notice how nicely the aileron linkage just happens to line up with the highest part of the seat frame. The ELT fits nicely in the area. below it, and there will be extra storage room on the other side of the seat. 292 hours so far.

Here's a color scheme I've been playing with.
