AirSports 11/21/04. The SS gets its first taste of daylight. The 912 was started up and it runs fine. There's a lot of little things to finish before the anticipated Thanksgiving first flight. 11/25/04. Thanksgiving. After a few tweaks, I took the first SS down the runway, taxiing with the front wheel in the air. Everything felt fine, so the next trip was full throttle. It lifted off easily with the big wing. I had a slight roll to the right, but noticed that my left spade was not level, so that accounted for it. Pitch ran out of trim for level flight (still climbing at 100'/min, so not a big problem), and I later fixed that problem, too. The roll rate is not quite what the 23.5' wing is, but still very good. Overall, it's an excellent flying plane, and I ended up extending the maiden flight to 2.4 hours. I was so confident with it, that I took it home to the acreage right away. Check out the video of the maiden flight! Hi-Resolution Low-Resolution
