Challenger LSS build for Ken Heide

Paint

Original Flying Tiger paint scheme

Ken comes down for another weekend and we get to painting.  Debbie (my other half) works at a body shop so we have a great place for it.  The first coat is a primer/sealer.
Underside of tail feathers masked off.
The finished product.
Underside of wing and wheel pant.
Top side of wing masked off.  It'll be a slight reverse of the bottom side, with the strips being white with 3/4" separation stripes.  The outside perimeter is the same gray, while the interior of the wing will be orange.
Here's the other wing basically at the same stage.
And the finished product.  It came out pretty nice.
Another view.
Time to start on the fuselage.  The bottom is the same grey as the wings.
12 hours later all the paint and stripes are on.  The nose area looks very sharp.
The fuselage paint scheme was a combination of the wings and wheel pants, which should bring it all together.
On the trailer, ready for the trip back to the hangar.  Paint is finally done.
