I needed something to go through the firewall for the heater, and
this socket and cap from Menards looked like it will work great.
In the Summer the hoses to the engine can be removed and the cap sealed
off. |

Intercom is mounted up above between pilot and passenger so it's
easily accessible by both. The choke lever and cable are now
completed. |
 |
Time for the windshield. Now it's getting close to finished.
Notice the front streamlined strut fairings are on, also. |
 |
2/2/08. How appropriate for the new LSS to first come out of
the hangar on Groundhog Day. Yes, it saw its shadow. :>) |
 |
The engine was successfully started up and broken in. Not
enough pitch was in the first time. 2nd attempt got the static rpm
down to 6400rpm and the 3rd was 6200. It should wind out around
6400 in the air. |
 |
The doors are finished. Found out the left door support would
hit the intercom as the door would close, so I had to move the intercom
ahead a couple of inches. |
 |
Right side, looking good. |
 |
2/17/08 Left side. After putting on the trim tab and
data plate it was time to call this project finished. 404.5
hours. |
