The Instructor
J.D. Stewart has been an Ultralight Pilot since the mid 80s, when he
started flying a Robertson B1-RD in the Seattle area. He's an EAA
Ultralight Flight Instructor. He has introduced the thrill of
flight to hundreds of people ranging in age from 10 to 91.
The Planes
J.D. trains ultralight pilots in a new Challenger II. His Titan
Tornado SS is registered as an amateur-built experimental and is used
for demo flights. Contact him to arrange
a flight in either of these wonderful aircraft.
The Costs
Ultralight flight instruction rates are $65/hour with most students taking less
than 10 hours to solo. Introductory flight lessons, which
familiarize the prospective student with ultralight flight for 15
minutes, are $20.
