Grand Rapids Technologies is proud of its line of aircraft-quality probes
and accessories. Details like the use of stranded thermocouple lead wires,
stainless steel thermistor housings, and teflon insulated wire are indicative of
the attention to quality in our probes and of all of our products.
EGT Probes - EGT probes include 4' of
matching extension wire and connector accessories They are constructed with
an Inconol 600 protection tube, compacted mineral insulation, and a
water-proof transition joint with 2' long stranded leads with stainless
steel overbraid. Type-K calibration. Aircraft quality--not the low cost
wire-in-a-tube type. (6' total length.)
Part No. EGT-HC-01 Features a traditional hose clamp type attachment.
Suitable for most all engines.
Part No. EGT-HCS-01 Smaller hose clamp for 1-2" diameter pipes. Ideal
for Rotax 912/914.
Part No. EGT-CF-01 Features a 1/8-27 NPT compression fitting. Popular with
the newer Rotax exhaust manifolds
CHT Probes - CHT probes include 4' of
matching extension wire and connector accessories. Double fibrous glass
braid insulation is used with these spark plug gasket-type probes.
Part No CHT-10 - 10 mm diameter for Hirth engines and for use on offset
CHT measurements for Rotax 912/914.
Part No CHT-14 - 14 mm diameter for Rotax, AMW, Zenoah, and most others.
Part No CHT-18 - 18 mm diameter for Lycoming and Continental
CHT Bayonet Style Probe - Spring
loaded push and turn type probe for Lycoming and Continental engines with
1-1 3/4 inch deep wells for measuring cylinder head temperature. These
probes are superior to spark plug gasket type probes because they are not
subject to the wear or inconvenience of spark plug gasket types. Bayonet
adapter required
Matching EGT and CHT extension
wire should be used when it is necessary to extend lead lengths for these
probes. The matching wire allows the EIS to compensate correctly for ambient
temperature fluctuations, and thus assures maximum instrument accuracy.
Fluid Temperature Probes. Constructed of
stainless steel or solid bar-stock machined brass, these probes feature
teflon insulated lead wire and a precision thermistor accurate from 80-300
deg F.
Part No FT-1827-02 1/8-27 pipe threads type. Suitable for all Rotax, AMW,
and many other engines. Used for both fluid and oil temperature with the
Rotax 912 and 914.
Part No. FT-LC-01 A 5/8" threaded probe complete with gasket for
sensing oil temperature as recommended for Lycoming and Continental engines.
Outside Air Temperature Probe -- Accurate over a
range of 15-160 degrees F for air temperature measurements. For all models
except Advanced-W. (Part No. OAT-01)
Power Converter Module -- Provides 12 Vdc, 0.4
Amps from lighting coil equipped engines. Allows the EIS to be powered
directly from the lighting coil without the need for a 12 V battery. (Part
No. PCM-02)
Gear Tooth/Pulse Adapter-- A general purpose
gear tooth to voltage adapter. Allows use of the Auxiliary input for Rotor
RPM sensing for rotorcraft or for any second tachometer input to the EIS.
Also suitable for use with Flo-Scan fuel flow sensors. Custom scaling
available at no charge. (Allow 3 weeks delivery.) (Part No. ADPT-GT-01)
Manifold Pressure Sensors - Used with the
auxiliary input of the advanced EIS to display manifold pressure in inches
of mercury.
Part MAP-01 Range of 0-31 inches of Hg for normally aspirated engines.
Part MAP-02 Range of 0-51 inches of Hg for turbo-charged engines.
The EIS uses 2 D-sub connectors for its electrical connections. These
connectors are highly reliable, are easily inserted and removed, and include
captive retaining screws. Two options are available for installation of
these connectors.
Option 1. Install the D-sub connectors provided with the EIS to your
aircraft wiring. These connectors included contacts that are crimped to your
wiring, and then inserted into the connector housing. (Solder-type
connectors available in place of crimp-type upon request.) Wires must be
stranded 20-24 gauge. This option allows the lightest and neatest
installation since no splicing of wires or terminal strips is required.
Option 2. Use one or both pre-wired cables. This option simplifies
installation by eliminating the need to install the connector to the end of
the cables. When the connector A cable is used, your aircraft wiring is
connected to this cable by splicing or with the use of a terminal strip (not
included). This option is slightly heavier than option 1, but is faster
since the connectors are already installed.
Connector A Cable 3 feet long, includes a female D-sub connector at
one end, and color coded leads at the other end. 22-gauge conductors, PVC
insulation. (Part No CAB-A-01)
EGT/CHT Cable Factory installed male-D-sub connector for the
EGT/CHT and oil pressure connections. Price includes connector and oil
pressure lead. EGT and CHT extension wire not included in price. Specify the
length and number of EGT and CHT leads. Unused EGT and CHT inputs will be
provided with a 1 foot lead so that this input may be shorted (as
recommended) or extended in the future. (Part No CAB-B-01)
